• • • Egypt produces about 23 million tons of different types of fertilizer each year, of which 10 million to 12 million tons are consumed locally. According to the Egyptian Bureau of Statistics(CAMPAS), about $3.3 billion fertilizers are exported in 2022, up 50.2 percent from $2.2 billion in 2021.

    Egyptian fertilizer industry officials said that due to the reduction of Russian fertilizer exports, Egypt has achieved high record fertilizer sales in the past few months and is on track to increase fertilizer exports by nearly 25% to 30% in 2024. It is known that Russia is one of the world's largest fertilizer exporters, and after the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Egypt became a major fertilizer exporter to many countries.

  The council is now targeting a 25% to 30% increase in fertiliser and chemicals exports by 2023. Egypt is now the seventh largest fertilizer exporter in the world and the second largest fertilizer exporter in Africa after Morocco.
