WILL CHEMICAL FERTILIZER BE OUT-OF-DATE OR GO BAD?

Chemical Fertilizer (chemical fertilizer machine)will be stacked for a long time for agricultural suppliers or farmer that fertilizer is over the use of its season. And here is a question, will chemical fertilizer be out-of-date or go bad? What are the expired rates in different fertilizers. Generally speaking, chemical fertilizer can be stored for a long time on condition that it should be stored properly, packaging bag not damaged, no raining, no moisture, no alkaline materials, so there is no regulation of chemical fertilizer shelf life at present.

Here we introduce several fertilizer storage methods:

1. Urea

Urea can be stored for a long time when in dry condition. It will be decomposition when temperature up to 122℃,  but urea should keep away from moisture, it is easy to loss weight in water condition.

2. Calcium superphosphate

Fertilizer efficiency will be worse when rained, calcium superphosphate production from high iron and aluminum should not be stored for a year. After 170 days of storage, calcium carbonate can be slowly converted into iron phosphate and aluminum phosphate, making them into insoluble substances and loss fertilizer efficiency.

3. Potassium chloride and potassium sulfate

They are very stable compounds, and will be clupmed when in water. Pay attention that its fertility effect still remains after smashing. If sprayed, you should recaculate its rate according dry fertilizer weight.

4. Ferrous sulfate

Ferrous sulphate is a strong oxidant, which is easily converted to iron sulphate when in water and cannot be absorbed by crops. Poor fertilizer efficiency, and easy to be expired.

5. DAP

When in relatively high temperature, such as the temperature above 30℃, it will be slowly converted to ammonium phosphate, with a small amount of ammonia volatilization. Therefore, the storage of diammonium phosphate is to tie the mouth of the fertilizer bag.
