NIGERIA TO BECOME AFRICA"S FERTILIZER POWERHOUSE, SAYS BUHARI

With more than over 70 sets of fertiliser blending plants set-up, Nigeria will become Africa's fertilizer powerhouse soon, President Mohammadu Buhari assured during his speech with the Executive Committee of Fertiliser Producers and Suppliers Association of Nigeria (FEPSAN) April 05.


President Buhari pointed out that Nigeria is the main global player in the urea production, which owns a huge urea production facilities. In this statement he also indicates that: with more than over 70 fertilizer mixing plants operating, Nigeria is becoming the powerhouse in Africa. President Buhari expressed his delight on the era of the past of fertilizer persistent shortage and commended FEPSAN for parntering with government in the backward integration project of the agricultural value chain.


In his remarks, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, said that fertiliser still remains a key input to achieving food security, our bank has continued to place great importance on its availability and accessibility by farmers to improve yield, productivity and ultimately, output.
